Pressure sensors are not always a first preference for the customer anymore. There are more sophisticated gadgets available for more precision. They provide a hassle free security system as well. The intruder can easily evade the detection if he just steps around the mat. It is necessary for the mats to cover a huge area so as to provide infallible protection. The motion sensing device is much tinier and uses a fraction of the materials. It can effectively scan a region of equal or bigger size. The pressure sensors are too large or awkward to be used efficiently.



Pressure sensors are useful in houses where the members are usually old or there are toddlers in the house. If there are aged people suffering from Alzheimer's disease who can be perplexed and stroll in the middle of the night, the mat serves as a handy tool. The family members will be only alerted when the person deviates to the danger zones.



Pressure sensitive alarms are also used to train pets. If you want your pet to stay away from some definite section of the house, you can place a mat to trigger the alarm when the cat or dog comes in close contact with it.

The pressure sensor mats can be used for personal protection or for non safety purposes. The general use is for protection which can be custom made for unusual and most difficult applications. General commercial use of pressure alarms includes perceiving the presence of an individual. It is also used in vehicle detection and in wet applications.
